The Australian Open, dubbed the Grand Slam of Asia/Pacific, celebrates its first 100 years in 2005. With the backing of the Australian Open, The Perth Mint is proud to present the "official" 100th Anniversary of the Australian Open 1905-2005 commemorative coin.

Coloured Reverse Design
The coin's reverse features the curved line of a tennis ball seam. The design incorporates three tennis players from different eras and a coloured representation of Melbourne Park. Also included in the design is the Australian Open logo featuring the words The Grand Slam of Asia/Pacific.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as Australian legal tender, the coin bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination on the obverse.
Extremely Limited Mintage
No more than 10,000 coins will be released by The Perth Mint.
Presentation Packaging
Each coin is housed in a copper-coloured presentation case which comes in an illustrated colour sleeve accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
