This legal tender coin features an intricate design incorporating representations of ancient and modern timekeeping methods and the inscription ‘Tempus fugit et nunquam revertitur’ (Time flies and never returns). Aptly, this beautiful coin has been ‘antiqued’ to give it an aged appearance – the first Australian coin to be finished in this way.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
The obverse of this Australian legal tender coin depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination ($10).
