Australian Lunar Silver Coin Series
Magnificent 1 Kilo Coin
Diamond Eye
Coloured Imperial Border
99.9% Pure Silver
Australian Legal Tender
Strictly Limited Mintage
A massive 1 kilo silver coin creates an impression, but add diamonds to the design and it can't fail to catch your eye. The combination of 1 kilo of 99.9% pure silver, coloured border designs and 0.02-carat golden coloured diamonds, creates prestigious gifts or unique additions to your collection.
Stunning Design
A coiled snake in the central design is surrounded by a border of five bats, which symbolise longevity, health, peace, prosperity and integrity. Purple and yellow represent the traditional colours used on the Chinese Emperor's robe. A baby snake hatching from the clutch of eggs represents a new year full of life. The Chinese character for snake and the 2001-year date also appear in the frosted design area.
The Year of the Snake
Those born in the Year of the Snake (1905, 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989 or 2001) are said to be passionate, romantic, deep-thinking, wise and charming. Money never concerns them, as they will always have enough to satisfy their needs. It is also believed that these people prefer their own judgement rather than seeking another's advice.
Unique Timber Presentation
Each coin is housed in a jarrah timber display case, which is seated in a tray that tilts to display the coin when the lid is opened. It is accompanied by a serial-numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
Quality Guaranteed
All coins are struck from 99.9% pure silver with a frosted design on a polished background. The coins are official coinage and legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965. Serial-numbered Certificates of Authenticity accompany each coin. Each Snake coin also features an individual serial number around its edge.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
The obverse features the effigy of the modern sculpture of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, created by Ian Rank-Broadley.
Limited Mintage
Each coin has a limited mintage of 5,000.
