Flora Platinum Series

3rd RELEASE

Proof Quality 99.95% Pure Platinum

This 2006-dated coin is struck from 1/2oz of 99.95% pure platinum in proof quality.

Flora Theme - Royal Bluebell

The coin's reverse depicts Royal Bluebell (Wahlenbergia gloriosa) in colour. Adopted as the floral emblem of the Australian Capital Territory on 26 May 1982, the small perennial herb which bears violet blue flowers, is found only in sub-alpine areas of south-east Australia. The first recorded specimen was collected by J.H.Willis, who exhibited it at the Field Naturalists' Club of Victoria on 11 March 1916. The coloured reverse includes the year-date.

Australian Legal Tender

Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin depicts Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on its obverse.

Uniquely Australian Packaging

Each coin is housed in a superb presentation case with a lid made from Australian blackbutt timber. The case comes in a protective outer shipper featuring Discover Australia's distinctive logo.

Each coin is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
